The Cake Monologues gladly uses PayPal to conduct business transactions. 

PayPal gives you the flexibility to order conveniently with three different options:

  1. ORDER BY PHONE OR EMAIL:  Contact The Cake Monologues and speak with a representative to process your order.  Payments can be made either by phone utilizing the PayPal phone services system using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, PayPal secure account or through your bank.  Your confirmation will be sent through email and/or mail.  If you do not receive your confirmation within 1 week, please contact us by phone or email during normal business hours.
  2. PAYPAL LINKS ON WEBSITE:  It's as simple as 1, 2, 3!  Click the links to add your items to the virtual card and check out when you're ready.  PayPal accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, PayPal secure account or through your bank.  Your confirmation will be sent via PayPal through email and The Cake Monologues will contact you via email or phone within 72 hours.
  3. INVOICING:  Do you prefer to take some of the measures as option one by speaking to a live representative but don't want to process your information through a telephone?  We'll invoice you via PayPal.  Tell us your order and we will send you an invoice via email.  Make your payment through PayPal's secure links.

In Person Payments

Some people just prefer to do it the old fashioned way:  In Person! 

Schedule a date and meeting time to meet with the owner to make your purchase and receive your receipt.  No personal checks are accepted in person.  Cash, certified money orders (Post Office) or Western Union money orders are accepted.  No exceptions.

Cakes from The Cake Monologues

All cakes are multi layered cakes which stands 4 - 6" high  with the exception of the Bundt cake or noted otherwise.  Requesting another layer of cake will cost extra.  Adding extra alcohol to cakes are subject to extra charges.  All orders require a 50% deposit (minimum) unless discussed otherwise with the owner of the Cake Monologues.  No refunds on deposits.

Cancellation Policy

  • The Cake Monologues cannot hold your date or order without a 50% non refundable deposit.
  • Two days cancellations will lose their deposit in addition to 10 per cent of the balance.
  • One day cancellations will lose their deposit plus 25 per cent of the balance.
  • Same day cancellations are not entitled to a refund.

Deliveries, Special Orders & Wedding Cakes

If service is available, cake deliveries are subject to additional costs.  Cakes order for special events are recommended 1 -2 weeks in advance.  Wedding cakes are recommended 2 - 3 months in advance.  Your deposit reserves your date and delivery, if included.  Please order earlier to guarantee delivery.  Any orders accepted for next day may be subjected to an additional $10.00 - $50.00 surcharge, depending on order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  How soon should I order?

The earlier you place your order gives you a better chance of securing the date and delivery -if requested- for your special occasion.  We recommend 48 to 72 hours for any of the cakes on our menu.  For special order cakes with unique shapes and designs, we ask that you place your order within 1 to 2 weeks in advance.  Wedding cakes require a 4 week notice.  The Cake Monologues will take short notice events if a slot is available for your occasion but an extra fee of 10.00 - 50.00 may apply for short notice.  The Cake Monologues has the right to refuse a cake order at any given time and if canceled by the owner, the customer will be refunded 100 percent.  If an order is canceled by the customer, you will forfeit your deposit or 50 per cent of the cost of your order.  Please see our Ordering Policy for further details.

Q.  How soon should I pay for my order?

The Cake Monologues does not hold your date until a deposit is made.  Although we desire to make all our potential customers' cakes a reality, we cannot hold "slots" for potential customers until a 50 percent deposit is made for special orders (25 per cent minimum for all items on our menu).  We treat large orders --3 cakes or dozens cupcakes or more at any size-- as special orders.  All payments are due in full two days before your reserved date.   If you cannot fulfill your payment, The Cake Monologues may give you credit for 90 days from the canceled date to purchase another cake for a later date.  Decision is upon the owner's discretion. 

Q.  Does The Cake Monologues ship cakes?

Unfortunately, we do not ship cakes at the present time.  We are unaware of how your cake will arrive and some carriers do not provide insurance for damage done to your cake.  We deliver to selected New York City areas, West New York and certain parts of New Jersey.  If your cake is required to be delivered any further than the NYC area, please contact the owner directly via email or by phone at 718.455.5359.

Q.  Can I pay online?

YES!  The Cake Monologues proudly conduct business through PayPal.  We can invoice you via email and you can pay through PayPal or you can order directly from the site via PayPal.  No PayPal account is necessary.  If you are interested in obtaining a PayPal account, please visit their website at www.paypal.com.  PayPal is a separate entity from The Cake Monologues.

Q.  Do I need to refrigerate my cake?

Absolutely!  Most of my cakes are buttercream cakes and I highly recommend refrigerating your cake.  Some cakes can be left out overnight and served outside but this is according to your own discretion.  The Cake Monologues is not responsible for cakes once received and approved, verbally and/or signed.

Q.  What are your delivery policies?

The Cake Monologues delivers to selected areas of NY and if special arrangements are made, outside of NYC.  We will arrive within 1 hour time frame of your delivery.  If we are delayed, we will contact the customer immediately.  If a delivery time is scheduled and the customer is not available , we will will wait no longer than 45 minutes outside of the time frame.  If the customer requests additional time, he or she is subjected to additional charges.  By chance that nobody is available for delivery, other arrangements must be made to pick up your order.  We do not hold onto cakes longer than 72 hours.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

Q.  Do you provide cake tastings?

Oh course darlin!  The Cake Monologues conduct cake tastings at a small fee of $15.00 and a mini discussion of your cake needs for 30 - 45 minutes; wedding consultations and special order cake tastings start at $35.00 for 30 - 45 minutes and $50.00 for 1 - 2 hours.  If you know your cake choices and are seeking a verbal consultation (does not include cake tasting), please feel free to give us a call or email and will will schedule you for a phone consultation.  Please refer to our Special Orders & Packages tab, located under the Products menu.

Other Information
